By Donald Norris

August 29, 2:00pm – 5:00pm Already passed

Fee: Class: $110.00 (required) / Kit: $90.00 (required)

Skill level: All Levels

This class is open to everyone of skill levels from a complete beginner to advanced Silversmiths that wish to make a successful business while having fun make Sterling Silver projects. Ages 12 and above are welcome.

Students will taught how to select the correct bezel ?wire? and to make a Fine Silver
Bezel to fit a cabochon perfectly every time faster and easier than any other method.
You will learn to make a perfect fitting bezel quickly and professionally in 60 seconds or
less with a little practice. The first time make take four minutes. It is a method that Don
Norris developed 50 years ago, and too his dismay Silversmiths are still using slow and
difficult techniques. With this technique students will be able to make a bezel for stones
in five minutes or less with a perfect shape and fit. Students will then solder the bezel to
a Sterling Silver sheet, make and attach the best bail for pendants. You will, also, learn
how to do the simplest, but the most difficult solder joint used in Silversmithing,
soldering on a bail onto a pendant. Many different bails will be taught. You will learn
that simple does not equate to easy, and complicated is not the most difficult and the
trick to profitable pieces is to make complicated designs quick and easy. You will learn
how to work quickly and use easy techniques to making your projects. Students will also
learn how to polish Sterling Silver jewelry with a Dremel Tool or flex shaft. If you wish to
sell at craft shows or art shows this class and project is a must do for you! If just want to
learn and make a great pendant for yourself you will have fun, and learn how to easily
make more projects at home. Students may bring in their own cabochon stone to use
for the class project no large than 12mm x 18mm in size.
